Privacy Policy
Quonkify is a Windows desktop email-search utility published by ZFire Media. This policy explains how the Quonkify desktop application and the quonkify.com website handle information.
1. Information Quonkify accesses
Google / Gmail data
Quonkify requests read-only Gmail access only after you explicitly connect a Google account and authorize Quonkify through Google. Depending on the messages in your account, information processed by Quonkify may include sender and recipient addresses, subjects, snippets, message bodies, attachment names, message metadata, and links or identifiers needed to open the original message.
Quonkify uses Gmail data solely to create, maintain, and operate the local email-search index and related features you request.
Microsoft / Outlook data
When you connect an Outlook.com or Microsoft 365 account, Quonkify requests read-only mailbox access through Microsoft. It may process the same general categories of email information described above for Gmail so it can create and maintain the local search index and open the original result in Outlook.
Authentication data
OAuth authentication tokens used to maintain your authorized connection are stored locally on your Windows computer using Windows user-level data protection. Mailbox OAuth tokens are not stored in the Quonkify email index.
2. Where mailbox data is processed and stored
Gmail and Outlook message data used by the Quonkify desktop application is processed and stored locally on your Windows computer. Quonkify does not transmit or store your indexed mailbox content on ZFire Media or Quonkify servers.
The local email-search index may contain sender and recipient information, subject lines, message snippets and bodies, attachment names, message metadata, account information, and links used to open original messages. The local search database is not currently protected with additional application-level database encryption. Access to files on your computer remains subject to your Windows account, device security, filesystem permissions, and other protections you use.
3. How Google user data is used
Quonkify does not use Gmail data for advertising, ad targeting, profiling, credit decisions, or AI or machine-learning model training. Quonkify does not sell Gmail data. Quonkify does not share Gmail message content with Stripe, Brevo, Netlify, advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers.
Quonkify's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
4. Website information
The public quonkify.com website is separate from the local mailbox index created by the Quonkify desktop application. Normal web hosting may cause technical request information such as IP address, browser information, timestamps, requested pages, and security or diagnostic information to be processed by our hosting provider, Netlify, as part of operating and protecting the site.
We do not currently use the website to receive or store your indexed Gmail or Outlook message content.
5. Payments
When commercial sales begin, Stripe is expected to process Quonkify purchases. Stripe will process payment and transaction information according to its own privacy practices. ZFire Media does not need to receive or store your complete payment-card credentials. Payment systems are separate from Quonkify's local mailbox index and do not receive your indexed mailbox content from the desktop application.
6. Email communications and support
If you contact support@zfiremedia.com, request product communications, or later opt in to marketing, we may process your email address and the information you choose to provide. Brevo may be used to deliver transactional or marketing email. Brevo does not receive your indexed mailbox content from the Quonkify desktop application.
Do not send sensitive mailbox content to support unless it is necessary for your support request.
7. Third-party service providers
We may use service providers for functions such as website hosting (Netlify), payment processing (Stripe), and email delivery (Brevo). These services may process information needed for their specific function. They are not used to host or search the local Gmail or Outlook message index created by the Quonkify desktop application.
8. Data retention and deletion
Your local Quonkify search index remains on your computer until it is removed through Quonkify, deleted from your Windows profile, or otherwise removed from the device. Removing an email account from Quonkify removes that account's locally indexed email and locally stored authorization state used by Quonkify. You may also separately revoke Quonkify's authorization from your Google or Microsoft account settings.
Website, transaction, email-delivery, and support records may be retained for the periods reasonably necessary to provide those services, maintain business and security records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Exact retention periods can vary by record type and service provider.
9. Security
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information and architecture involved. Authentication tokens are protected locally using Windows user-level protection. No security measure can guarantee absolute security. Keeping your Windows account, device, and operating system secure is important because the local Quonkify search index contains readable email content.
10. Your choices
- You choose whether to connect Gmail or Outlook.
- You may remove an account from Quonkify.
- You may revoke Quonkify's authorization through Google or Microsoft account settings.
- You may choose whether to receive non-essential marketing communications and may unsubscribe from them.

11. Children
Quonkify is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly market the product to children under 13. If applicable law requires a higher age threshold in a user's location, the relevant local requirement may apply.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Quonkify changes. We will publish the current version at this URL and update the effective date above. If a change materially affects how Google user data is accessed, used, stored, or shared, we will update our disclosures accordingly.
